Chilliwack Fire Called To Outbuilding Blaze On Ramsey Place – Grow Op

Chilliwack – On Friday morning (January 25 @ 7:15AM) Chilliwack Fire was alerted to a structure fire in the 7300 block of Ramsay Place.

Fire crews from Halls 1,2,4 and 6 responded to the scene and upon arrival discovered a detached outbuilding with moderate smoke showing from the eaves of the structure.

The outbuilding is believed to have contained a marijuana grow operation and in the interest of firefighter safety, crews did not enter the building and undertook a defensive stance on the fire.

An excavator was later called in by fire crews to demolish a portion of the outbuilding so firefighters could safely access the seat of the fire and extinguish it.

The cause of this fire is under investigation and no one was hurt.
