Fraser Valley – Wet snow is possible tonight and on Boxing Day with accumulations likely over higher terrain.
An approaching Pacific frontal system will spread precipitation over the Lower Mainland tonight. The cool air mass currently over the south coast means that snow levels are low enough that rain will likely mix with snow over many locations overnight and on Boxing Day.
Local snowfall accumulations of a few centimetres are likely over higher terrain tonight and additional amounts of 5 cm or more are possible on Boxing Day. Even low elevation areas could see a transition to wet snow on Boxing Day morning during heavier precipitation.
Precipitation will end by late Wednesday afternoon over Metro Vancouver but will linger into the evening up the Fraser Valley.
Wet snow possible over the south coast tonight and Boxing Day… especially over higher terrain. See special weather statement and forecasts for details. #BCstorm https://t.co/mBUFIiBWZT
