Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District Make Major Donation To Chilliwack Hospital Foundation

Chilliwack – On Wednesday (March 21) the Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District (FVRHD) made a major legacy donation to the Chilliwack Hospital Foundation. In celebration of the regional hospital district’s 50th anniversary, the FVRHD has donated $272,888 in support of upgrades to gastrointestinal equipment at the Chilliwack General Hospital. These upgrades were identified as a significant need for the community.

FVRHD Chair Henry Braun said, “Today marks another step in ensuring that we are investing in our region’s health, bringing a positive impact to both patients and medical staff. As a Board, we truly value the strong partnerships we have with hospital foundations throughout the Fraser Valley. By working together, we are building healthier communities throughout our region.”

In 2017, the FVRHD also provided a $370,250  legacy donation to the Fraser Valley Healthcare Foundation in support of a simulation lab at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

The Fraser Valley Regional Hospital District was created in 1967, along with the Fraser Valley Regional District. The 23 member board is comprised of elected officials from eight electoral areas and six member municipalities. The regional hospital district raises capital funds for hospital facilities in the area, including construction and acquisition of facilities and major equipment.
