Golden Ears Park (with files from Alouette Parks and Wikipedia) – Happy 50th birthday Golden Ears Park!!

Created on December 14, 1967,  Golden Ears has become one of the most popular Provincial Park’s in the province.

It is named after the prominent twin peaks which are commonly referred to as Golden Ears (Mount Blanshard) (Elevation: 1716 m or 5630 ft).

The park’s southern end is located on the northern edge of the district municipality of Maple Ridge on the north side of the Fraser River.

The park was originally part of Garibaldi Provincial Park (established 1927) but was split off as a separate park in 1967.
