Missing Agassiz/Bridal Falls Paraglider – FOUND

Agassiz -2PM UPDATE – Anita Newfield with Kent Harrison Search and Rescue says the 70 year old was found on a logging road on Elk Mountain and is safe and sound. Crews held an exhaustive search before he was found and is now in debriefing.

11AM ORIGINAL STORY – RCMP and Kent Harrison Search and Rescue are searching the mountainside near Bridal Falls for a missing paraglider. 

On Monday May 29, 2017 at approximately 5 a.m., Agassiz RCMP received a report that a 70-year-old man from Agassiz did not return home from a paragliding excursion on Sunday.

Police, supported by Kent Harrison Search and Rescue have initiated an extensive ground search for the man in the region of Elk Mountain. 

“We are in the early stages of the search and have reached out to the RCMP Air Services in Comox to assist us,” Sgt. Darren Rennie of Agassiz RCMP.
