Fraser Valley – The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died after a motor vehicle incident in Downtown Chilliwack on December 1.
She was Fourghozaman Firoozian, aged 78, of Chilliwack.
Ms. Firoozian was struck by a vehicle in the 9100-block of Mary Street in Chilliwack shortly after 1 p.m. on December 1, 2016. She was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster but died from her injuries later that afternoon.
Allegedly, after the collision, witnesses reported seeing a grey pickup leaving the scene.
The suspect vehicle was located by officers on Hope River Road, and RCMP took one person into custody.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
