Abbotsford – For the better part of Saturday September 3, a serious crash shut down the westbound lanes of Highway 1 (west of Whatcom Road) in Abbotsford.
A tow-truck operator had to be shipped to hospital due to a careless driver who clipped him and then, would not stop.
The tow-truck operator had just finished loading another vehicle onto his truck when he saw another truck coming at him.
That driver hit the tow truck driver and ended up with two broken legs.
There are reports that the careless driver tried to speed off but was tracked down by an off duty officer.
The tow truck driver works for Aggressive Auto Towing, known as one of the companies featured in the reality show “Highway Thru Hell”
“Hell”producer Mark Miller said the driver sometimes works for him on the show.
Though he doesn’t know the driver personally, Miller said he empathizes with the victim and his family and coworkers.
