Fraser Valley – It’s a “best of” list that no one wants to be on.
Abbotsford and Vancouver made the top 10.
Kelowna was not that far behind.
And with a faltering and sputtering economy, crime was up across Canada last year for the first time in more than a decade.
The latest report from Stats Canada shows police reported crime is up 3% nationally and has increased in eight of the 13 provinces and territories.
They also list Abbotsford and Vancouver among the top 10 crime rates in the country.
But while there’s an uptick for 2015, it comes after after nearly two and a half decades of steady drops.
People in Chilliwack may argue these numbers, particularly in the Downtown Core, as robberies and prostitution seem to be on the rise.
Some feel that their city should be on this list.
Social media in the “Wack” has shown an increase in complaints of property and social crime problems.
Stats Canada pulled these numbers from The National Crime Security Index.
