Agassiz/Kent – An inmate at Mountain Institution died at Surrey hospital on Tuesday, according to Correctional Service Canada.
On April 19 51 year old Kenneth Blair Schmutz passed away.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
At the time of his death, Schmutz had been serving a sentence of 7 years, 6 months and 20 days for sexual interference and other offences since April 15, 2013.
