Chilliwack, BC – NAFDMA, the North American Farmers Direct Marketing Association is in the Fraser Valley and Vancouver this week. No corporate farmers here. These are the big private farmers from the US and Canada talking about concerns and marketing ideas for all brands of farming.
Yes the recent controversy about special events on BC farms, ie farm weddings was a hot topic. Along for the ride included former NDP Minister of Agriculture Corky Evans, who is now back on the farm in the Kootenays. Also attending was Chilliwack Mayor and FVRD Chair Sharon Gaetz.
FVN was the one of the few media allowed to tag along on this Wednesday ride from the PNE through a number of Fraser Valley farms to Minter Country Gardens and finally at Gary and Lisa Morin’s Fantasy Farms where the gala dinner was held.
The conference wraps up February 6.
