The Major Crime Unit of the Abbotsford Police Department has determined that a second Indecent Act and Sexual Assault incident took place on May 7, 2015 involving the same suspect. On that Thursday at 2:25 pm, a woman was shopping at a store in the 33600 block of Essendene Avenue. Another customer appeared to be shopping in the same aisle as her. When that individual left, the woman observed a wet substance on the floor and on the back of her clothing.
The victim contacted police and evidence was obtained from the store and from the victim’s clothing.
Lab results have determined that the substance found on the clothing of both the May 7, 2015 and November 8, 2014 victims, contains the same suspect’s DNA. Detectives are continuing the investigation and are concerned that there could be other similar but unreported incidents in Abbotsford or elsewhere. They continue to seek identification of the suspect and any information the public might have about these or other related crimes.
Anyone with information should contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225, text us at 222973 (abbypd) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
