Fraser Valley – For years, many in media and polticos watching the process have been complaining about voter apathy. In past Municipal and Provincial Elections, voter turnout was in the 20-30% range.
Not the case with the 2015 Federal Election.
After a staggering and impressive display of voter involvement with the advance polls (3.6 Million in the four days of advance polling), those numbers DID translate to election night.
Voter turnout: Abbotsford 70%, Chilliwack 66%, for the new Matsqui-Mission-Fraser Canyon riding – 71%, Vancouver 68.5% NATIONALLY – 68%! These were the best numbers since the 1997 General Election.
So for those who voted, kudos!
For those who did not, what were you thinking?
No, you won’t be able to vote on line in the foreseeable future unless you can come up with a hack proof formula.
And if you were just too lazy, you have no right to complain about the outcome.
