Coroner ID’s Woman Who Died In Clothing Donation Bin

Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows – The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a woman who died after becoming trapped in a clothing donation bin in Pitt Meadows on Sept. 27, 2015.

She is Anita Hauck, aged 45, of Maple Ridge.

Late on the evening of Sept. 27, an employee of a supermarket in Pitt Meadows noticed a person apparently trapped in a large metal bin near the store and summoned help. Ms. Hauck was rescued from the bin and was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster for treatment. However, she died in hospital early on Sept. 29.

The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

Ms. Hauck’s family has been notified of her death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
