Chilliwack, BC (Star FM) – Friends and family of Don Van Beest, the Chilliwack Fire Captain who passed away last month, are invited to raise a glass at the Jolly Miller Pub Wednesday night at 7 PM.
Lisa Axelsson from the Chilliwack Fire Department says it’s meant to be a casual night of telling stories and having
“So this is not a memorial, it’s for the living to come and remember Don in a really positive light because of what he gave back to the community in his job and in his personality.”
Axelsson says Don touched a lot of people in the community and was instrumental in getting the fire department’s education bursary fund going.
