Vancouver/Chilliwack – The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after suffering an accidental fall while hiking at Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park on June 5, 2015.
Mr. Sukhjeet Saggu, aged 20, from Surrey, was reported missing on June 5 after becoming separated from a group he had been hiking with on the Linderman Lake Trail at Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park.
Chilliwack RCMP and Search and Rescue attended and began search operations. Mr. Saggu was subsequently located on June 6, at the foot of a loose rock incline, where he was confirmed deceased.
The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate this death.
The family of Mr. Saggu has been notified of his death. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
