Emily Janzen Tribute On Tuesday May 26, Memorial Fund For Music Students

Chilliwack/Langley – UPDATE – In Musical Memory of Emily Janzen

All those that have been a part of Emily’s community are invited to attend a tribute to her life on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 1pm at First Avenue Christian Assembly. 46510 1st Avenue, Chilliwack.

The press is asked to respect the family’s wishes to not enter the church property.

CSO Maestra Paula DeWit posted to Facebook : “She was diverse. She was gifted. She was sweet. She was musical. She was an actress, a soloist, a team player. She was a great fit for the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra & Chorus. Emily participated with the CSO for some years. Paula DeWit, the conductor of the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra & Chorus first met Emily at the Chilliwack School of Performing Arts where they worked together for two musicals, “Once Upon a Mattress” and “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”. Paula says she knew pretty fast that Emily was a special young lady with amazing gifts and a sweet character.

Emily was at home with the Chilliwack Symphony Chorus and was an integral part of Belle Voci.

Today, past and current members of Belle Voci have come together to sing two musical tributes to Emily. “We have come together to celebrate Emily’s life and join with you in grieving and healing as a community”. The first piece that Belle Voci will sing is called “Butterfly”. Emily sang this with Belle Voci in September 2010 at the inaugural concert of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre. The beautiful slide show consists of photos taken by Kim Mallory. The second piece they will sing is Leonard Cohen’s beloved “Hallelujah”

Original Story:

In memory of Chilliwack Academy of Music student, Emily Janzen, they’re participating in a fundraiser to help support music students in the Chilliwack region. We hope you’ll consider a donation to the memorial fund of this beautiful and talented musician.

Information for a donation can be found here.

IHIT, The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team continues to look into this murder-suicide that claimed the life of Emily, her mother, aunt and father.

The B.C. Coroners Office has launched an investigation into the deaths of the four members of the Janzen family.

FVN Fraser Valley News reiterates our stand that we will not re-post the grizzly Facebook information allegedly posted by her father, explaining the deaths.

The community let alone family and friends of Emily have to deal with enough trauma, that constantly rehashing those details , is not necessary. If you are so inclined, a quick Google search will lead you to that posting.

Paula DeWit, the Conductor for the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra, is organizing a memorial where vocal group Bella Voci will perform.
