De Jaeger Elected President Of The Chilliwack Metis Association

Chilliwack – This is the start of a busy week for the Chilliwack Metis Association. Just days before the celebration of the gift of a Red River Cart, from the Chilliwack Métis association to the The University of the Fraser Valley Library, comes the election of their new President.

The vote came at the AGM of the Metis Association at the Sto:lo Headquarters on Vedder Road.

Proud to be elected President of the Chilliwack Metis Association tonight. We are one of 38 Chartered Metis Communities in BC. We have over 300 citizens in our community and we number over 80,000 in BC.
I am proud to be leading this powerful team consisting of Peter Lang Elected Vice President, Penny Trites, Director of Children & Families, Alena McInroy Director of Community Relations & Citizenship, Brianna Secretary, Ed & Larry Elders & Directors at large, Sharon Quenneville our Women’s representative, Fergus Dalton remains our director of youth. Thanks to Metis Nation of BC President
Clara Morin Dalcol for her ongoing support for our community and her advocacy for Metis People across this great province!
