Maple Ridge – The Disney TV Series “Gabby Duran” will be filming scenes in Memorial Peace Park and the Maple Ridge downtown core on Friday March 15. They will be moving over to film at La Belle Chateau in the early afternoon. The film crew will be utilizing the west side of 224 St. between Dewdney Trunk Rd. and the alley that day. The “circus” or film trucks move in on the 14th.
In August 2018, Disney Channel announced a straight-to-series order for live-action comedy Gabby Duran & The Unsittables.
From Mike Alber and Gabe Snyder (Kirby Buckets), Gabby Duran & The Unsittables follows Gabby (Kylie Cattrall), a 12-year-old who constantly feels overshadowed by her successful mother and whip-smart younger sister. She gets a chance to make a name for herself, though, when she gets a job babysitting extraterrestrial children who are hiding out on earth with their families, disguised as everyday kids.
In addition to Cattrall, Gabby Duran & The Unsittables stars Maxwell Acee Donovan (Good Kids) as Gabby’s best friend, conspiracy-theorist Wesley; Coco Christo (We Take the Low Road) as Gabby’s overachieving little sister Olivia; Nathan Lovejoy (The Code) as Principal Swift; and Valery Ortiz (Switched at Birth) as Gabby’s caring and career-driven mom Dina.
