Langley Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Event – October 27 & 28

Langley – The Township of Langley is working hard to reduce waste and provide collection services for household items such as paper, glass, plastic containers, food scraps, and yard trimmings.  There are also opportunities to donate unwanted household items that are still usable within the community.

But none of the above applies to household hazardous waste, which can leach into our soil and water supplies and harm the environment. And it is certainly not safe to simply leave it lying around.

To resolve the issue, the Township of Langley has been hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Plus Collection Event for close to two decades, to give residents a chance to safely dispose of the potentially toxic chemicals and dangerous items they have accumulated.

This year, the 18th annual event will be presented by the Township of Langley and the City of Langley on Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28, from 9:00am to 3:00pm, at the Township Operations Centre, 4700 – 224 Street.

Household quantities of corrosive, toxic, flammable, or reactive products will be accepted and everything collected will be properly and safely disposed of or recycled.

The drop-off event is free, but proof of Langley residency is required. Donations of non-perishable food items for the Langley Food Bank will also be gratefully accepted.
