Chilliwack’s Bria Skonberg Didn’t Repeat As 2018 Juno Jazz Winner

Fraser Valley/Vancouver -MARCH 25 UPDATE – Sadly Chilliwack’s Bria Skonberg did not repeat as a Juno Winner for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year for With a Twist. While the main televised part of the show was on Sunday night, on Saturday night, a number of awards, including single of the year, pop album of the year, songwriter of the year and more were handed out at the 2018 Juno Gala Dinner & Awards ceremony.

The running tally of winners and nominees can be found here.

The late Gord Downie was named artist of the year. Between his solo work and the Tragically Hip, that was the 21st Juno win of his stellar career, the most for anyone in Juno history.

FEBRUARY 6 ORIGINAL STORY – Chilliwack’s Bria Skonberg is among the 2018 Juno nominees. She is up for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year for With a Twist.

She won the same award in 2017 and that FVN story can be found here.

The complete list of nominees can be found here.

The Juno’s are in Vancouver this year at Rogers Arena, March 25. Michael Buble will MC. He was supposed to MC last year’s awards, but his son’s cancer treatment forced his withdrawal from the ceremony. The young Master Buble is recovering.
