APD Constable’s Celebration Of Life Will Be Televised – Sunday November 19

Abbotsford – NOVEMBER 13 UPDATE – Cst Davidson’s Celebration of Life will be broadcast live on Global, BC1, CTV On Line, CTV Newsnet and CKNW and live-streamed on the APD website.

The Abbotsford Police Department recognize the importance of including our community in the celebration of Cst. Davidson and his legacy.  Please see the following for the changes to the Celebration of Life Ceremony for November 19, 2017.

The procession of uniformed law enforcement will be starting at approximately 11:30 am at 2369 McCallum Road (near McCallum Road and McDougall Ave).  Attached is the funeral procession route.  The procession will march south on McCallum Road and proceed east on King Road to the Abbotsford Center located at 33800 King Road.

The Celebration of Life Ceremony will begin at 1 p.m.

There will be three overflow seating areas:

The University of the Fraser Valley – Envision Athletic Centre, 1395 McKenzie Rd. Doors will be open for the public at 11:30 am.

Central Heights Church, 1661 McCallum Road.  Doors will be open for the public at 12:30 pm.

NOVEMBER 10 STORY – As the road home starts for fallen APD Const. John Davidson,  Abbotsford Police Department members attended Vancouver General Hospital to bring home their fallen brother Const. John Davidson back to Abbotsford.

The motorcade left Vancouver on Thursday afternoon and travelled to the Henderson’s Fraser Valley Funeral Home at 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford. Overpasses were lined with RMS responders and many citizens wishing to pay their respects.

Details have been released of the officer’s funeral which will be public.

The full police honours service and celebration of life takes place Sunday, November 19 at 1PM at Abbotsford Centre.

A Go fund me page has been set up to assist the family. It is now in excess of $50,000 to pay for funeral and other expenses.
