Agassiz –  One man was arrested and alleged stolen property was seized by police following the execution of a Search Warrant in late October by the RCMP.

The search stemmed from the police investigation into thefts reported to the RCMP.  Evidence gathered by Agassiz RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) associated a suspect to a site in the 10000-block of Parkwood Drive- where on October 28th – Agassiz RCMP executed a warrant to search the address.

Welding equipment, dirt bike parts and components, to an alleged ‘chop shop’ were seized by police during the search.  Officers also seized cell phones, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), insurance papers, passports, identification, and credit cards linked to thefts in the Bridal Falls area.

A man, 49, from Popkum was taken into custody and later released by police.

RCMP will be submitting all circumstances of the investigation in a report to Crown Counsel for their assessment of charges at the conclusion of the investigation.
