Possible Gas Shortages In The Interior – Fraser Valley OK

Fraser Valley – The summer traveling season is here and with the loonie and the rest of the economy, a stay-cation makes sense.

So… you are well advised to fill your gas tank before heading to the interior or anywhere east of the Lower Mainland.

A fuel shortage caused by damage in Alberta’s wildfires is hitting more gas stations in BC.

Kamloops, Kelowna, Vernon and now Merritt are experiencing the pumps turned off or long waits at those stations…assuming they are still operational.

Hardest hit are the Suncor owned Petro-Canada stations.

Dan McTeague with gasbuddy.com says Vancouver, the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley  won’t be affected as fuel here is sourced from elsewhere.

Gas for the Interior comes from a facility in Alberta that’s gone offline, with no solid timeline to be back.

That is how the Fort McMurray Fire will impact us for the next month or two.

There is an upside, as experts don’t believe there will be a massive spike in gas prices.
