ORIGINAL STORY August 27 – The City of Chilliwack is planning changes to the Residential Curbside Collection Program starting May 1, 2017 to separate food waste for composting (divert food waste from the garbage). Redirecting valuable organic material from the landfill to more beneficial use is part of a region-wide effort that will ultimately involve all sectors.
Over the next few months, City staff will be reaching out to residents to share information and gain input to help shape the curbside program and address concerns. Stay tuned for more information and opportunities to provide feedback!
