Langley – UPDATE – 3:30 PM Thursday – Highway 1 re-opened. Witnesses from 420 AM Thursday with dashcam footage are needed.

BC Highway Patrol (BCHP) is seeking witnesses and dash camera footage following fatal collision in the 24000-block of Highway 1.
On September 19, 2024 at 4:20 a.m. Langley RCMP responded to the report of a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle in the eastbound lanes of Highway 1 at 240 Street. The driver of a motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver of the other vehicle involved was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
BCHP has taken conduct of the investigation and is working closely with Langley RCMP and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).
The collision involved a black 2012 Honda Civic and a red 2001 Harley Davidson, both of which were believed to be travelling east on the highway prior to the collision.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash camera footage of the collision or either vehicle prior to the collision is asked to contact BCHP at 604-526-9744.

ORIGINAL STORY – Langley RCMP is currently on scene in the 24000 block of Highway 1 investigating an early morning fatal motor vehicle collision.
On September 19, 2024 at 4:20 a.m. Langley RCMP was notified of a serious motor vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes of Highway 1 at 240 Street.
Initial investigation indicates a car and a motorcycle were travelling east on the Highway when they collided. Unfortunately, the driver of the motorcycle succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision.
Langley RCMP and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) remain on scene investigating.
The Trans Canada Highway, Highway 1, will remain closed east bound between 232 Street and 264 Street as the investigation continues.
