UPDATE – Driver (Witness) of Vehicle After Body Found in Ditch On Chilliwack Central Road Comes Forward

Chilliwack – FEBRUARY 28 UPDATE – Chilliwack RCMP say the driver of the red truck has come forward and is cooperating fully with police.  As stated in the initial media release, the driver of the red truck is a witness to this incident and not involved in the male’s death.

FEBRUARY 26 UPDATE – On Saturday February 17, 2024 the Chilliwack RCMP responded to a report of a deceased male in a drainage ditch on Chilliwack Central Road between Prest Road and Broadway Avenue. The Chilliwack RCMP General Investigation Support Team has been working closely with the BC Coroner’s Office to identify the deceased male and conduct an investigation to determine the cause of death.

The male has subsequently been identified and his name is not being released to the public at this time.

The male was known to police.

Chilliwack RCMP is now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a red truck that was seen driving along Chilliwack Central Road on February 16, 2024 between 5 pm and 7 pm.

So far, IHIT has not been called in.
