Hope – A Sunday night fire devastated a property in Othello.
Garrett Glowienkaa posted to social media the picture of the blaze and told FVN:
It’s at the very end of Jason road. On my friends property. My RV got burnt to the ground as well as the modular home beside it. Lost everything I own. No pets (were harmed). I’m okay but yeah. Got nothing left.
Hope Fire is investigating and a cause of the fire has yet to be released:
A busy day of calls Tuesday. Fire fighters responded to Jason Road just after 6:30 Tuesday evening after receiving multiple reports of a possible mobile home on fire. Upon arrival, crews discovered a small single room structure and nearby RV fully involved in flames. There was also some extension into the nearby trees. All were quickly contained and crews remained on scene until 9 pm. The occupant of the residence sustained minor injuries and the cause remains unknown at this time. The day also included an early morning rubbish fire, illegal burning complaint, and medical call later that evening. Thanks to our #professionalvolunteers that #answerthecall and our response partners from BC Ambulance and RCMP.
One firefighter posted to the thread Hope BC Bulletin Board: I was a firefighter on that truck and it wasn’t a fast truck due to the weight it carried and it couldn’t go down hill fast.
