Empty Home on Second Near Charles in Chilliwack Goes Up In Flames – Second Time in Two Weeks – Considered Suspicious

Chilliwack – Chilliwack Fire were on the scene Friday morning around 10:30AM at an abandoned home on the 46000 Block of Second Avenue near Charles.

This is the second time in two weeks that this property went up in flames.

Chilliwack Fire noted in their media release:

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke at the rear of the structure. Smoke was also venting from the roof structure of a two storey, unoccupied residential house.

Firefighters gained access and quickly extinguished the fire. There was heavy fire damage with significant smoke damage to the remainder of the house.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

This fire is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department and RCMP fire investigators.
