Chilliwack (with files from Laurie Smith) – The rain and the game fell on the W. J. Mouat Hawks Football at Exhibition Stadium in Chilliwack. The GW Graham Grizzlies SV Football team had no issues winning 48-16 at Exhibition Stadium.

Miel Bernstein posted to Facebook: I never thought I’d be a football mama. I didn’t know ahead but tonight was gr. 12 parent appreciation at the Varsity home game. We got called out on the field and recognized by our kids. I’ve always been a proud mama and I’m now a proud Grizzly Mama Bear.
Boys played a solid game with a final score of 48-16 for our Grizzlies.
Sage’s sweet note and gift was the best part of the night.
In the battle for first place in the Eastern Conference the #2 ranked Grizzlies defeated the Mouat Hawks 48-16. It was a hard fought battle against an explosive Hawks offense. The Grizzlies jumped out to a quick 14-0 first quarter start and then the teams traded touchdowns in the second quarter with the Hawks successfully converting 2 point converts. The Grizzlies dominated the second half and made adjustments to slow the Hawks offense.
The Grizzlies offense was balanced with 3TDs in the air and 4TDS on the ground. QB Lucas Feaver was 17 of 27 for 228 yards and 3TDs. Feaver’s top targets were Tyson Oregaard with 5 receptions for 50 yards and 2 TDs, Braeden Macdonald (5 rec, 68 yards), Christian Beck (6 rec, 61 yards), and Carter Dallas (2 rec, 43 yards, 1TD). RB Maleky Colgiu led the way on the ground with 12 carries for 101 yards and 2TDs. Aiden Hewitt and Yapo Conteh added TDs on the ground for the Grizzlies.
Defense was again led by superstar defensive end Vincent Branauer with 7 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. Branauer applied constant pressure and forced numerous hurried throws and incompletions. Defensive tackle Tyler Bergin added 4 tackles and a sack while safety Carter Dallas had 4 tackles. “The Hawks came in and gave us a tough game admitted Defensive Coordinator Ian Parks “we were forced to make some adjustments at halftime but these guys executed very well in the second half.”
The Grizzlies take on the Sardis Falcons in the battle of Chilliwack Friday night November 4 at Exhibition Stadium to end the regular season. With the win Friday night the Grizzlies secured first place in the Eastern Conference and a bye into the second round of the playoffs.
