Abbotsford, BC – On Friday night, Cyrus Centre Abbotsford filled the Northview Community Church with love, desserts and hope for street youth. It was the 11 annual Dessert Banquet and Auction with proceeds to assist the Abbotsford ministry on Ware Road.
They need not only cash but physical goods and food as well.
All Cyrus Centre services are funded by donations from businesses, churches, organizations and individuals. Executive Director Les Talvio said in Abbotsford, they don’t want to turn kids away due to demand, but the budget for Abbotsford alone is $420,000 and raising that kind of money is hard. Cyrus Abbotsford is $90,000 under budget.
Chilliwack’s Cyurs Centre is also under the financial thumb. Their dessert banquet is November 20.
