Chilliwack, BC – Back on August 19, 2015, the wheels went into motion for the owners of the abandoned Downtown Safeway. Sobey’s and the City came to the realization/conclusion/agreement that the old girl was to come down.
After some arm-twisting by the City, Sobey’s apologized that the long dilapidated building was an eye sore and that they wanted to be a good community citizen.
Plus, it’s good PR.
It appears that Sobey’s are holding up their end of the bargain as the “For Sale” sign is up in front of the derelict building.
