Blaine, Washington – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations officers at the Peace Arch Port of Entry discovered one package of ketamine weighing 2.25 pounds on February 7.

Around 2 p.m., a man driving a Nissan Quest was attempting to enter the United States at the Peace Arch Port of Entry. The 39-year-old BC man (and sole occupant of the vehicle) declared a personal trip. Officers discovered the ketamine by utilizing additional officer experience.
Officers seized the ketamine and vehicle. Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the individual and the Whatcom County Prosecutor’s Office accepted state prosecution. Whyatcom County Sherrif posted bail at $50,000 but did not post city of origin. Bellingham media said he was a known drug trafficker, Brian Allen Malley.
The Blaine Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST Blaine) is investigating the case. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations-led BEST is composed of full-time members from U.S. Customs and Border Protection Offices of Air and Marine, Field Operations and Border Patrol; the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office; the U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Service; the Drug Enforcement Administration; the Canada Border Services Agency; and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
