Calgary/Langley/Chilliwack – National Hockey League Central Scouting released Monday its mid-term rankings as a prelude to the upcoming 2019 NHL Draft in Vancouver and 26 current Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) skaters and goaltenders are among those ranked.
Topping the CJHL contingent is Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL) forward and 2017-18 CJHL Rookie of the Year Alex Newhook, who is ranked in the first round, 16th overall, among North American skaters.
Three other forwards were slotted in Round 2 among North American skaters in Alexander Campbell of the Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL); Harrison Blaisdell of the Chilliwack Chiefs (BCHL) and Massimo Rizzo of the Penticton Vees (BCHL).
In all, 15 CJHL forwards were ranked, as were eight defencemen and a trio of goaltenders.
The majority of these players will be competing in the annual CJHL Prospects Game, which goes tomorrow evening (Tuesday, Jan. 22), at 7:30 p.m. MT at Pason Centennial Arena in Okotoks, Alta.
