Abbotsford – Last Wednesday (December 5) as a result of a search by staff members, a package containing contraband was seized at Pacific Institution(formally Matsqui).
The contraband seized included 44 grams of cannabis derivative, 57 grams of tobacco, 2 cell phones, 1 small container of crazy glue. The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is $10,500.
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) uses a number of tools to prevent drugs from entering its institutions. These tools include ion scanners and drug-detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates and visitors.
CSC did not say of a full lockdown was instituted.
