Abbotsford Burn Ban On Through September 30

Abbotsford – The Abbotsford city-wide burn ban is on from June 1 through to September 30.

Burning permit applications are no longer accepted for this season.  You can apply for the fall season after September 25.

Open Air Burning Regulations & Guidelines

  • Open air burning is NOT permitted in URBAN areas at any time of the year. 
  • An application must be submitted in advance of the desired burn date, at least 10 business days prior for land clearing and 5 business days prior for agricultural burning.
  • Open Air Burning Permits are only valid for the property they are issued for and are non-transferable.
  • Open Air Burning Permits must be activated online the day of burning.
  • Open Air Burning Permits must be kept on site and accessible to Fire Department personnel while burning is taking place.
  • Open Air Burning Permits are subject to change by order of the Fire Chief, without notice.
  • Open Air Burning over Peat type soil prohibited.
