Abby Police Release Roadside Fire Video From Discarded Cigarette Butt (VIDEO)

Abbotsford – Abbotsford Police and Fire are trying to get the word out, once gain, that a wildfire can start anytime, anywhere. APD released a video of a roadside fire that started from a discarded cigarette butt.

Even though the irony is we have the freshet and flooding, that doesn’t mean a wildfire can’t pop up. Fire season in the BC Interior is well underway.

Discarded cigarette butts are a to motorists & emergency crews! Fines = $575 under the Wildlife Act. will be issuing these fines for this careless action. Call 911 for fires; report this behavior to *5555 or 1-800-663-5555.
