Kent/Chilliwack/Agassiz – UPDATE – The eight-metre Spirit of Harrison was found in Chilliwack. On Facebook, Carol Biccum noted that it was spotted Saturday morning at the end of Keith Wilson Road at Boundary Road in a blueberry field by the Bridge over the Vedder Canal. It’s still not known who or why the boat and trailer were stolen. What is frustrating is that this is the third time in three years that a boat from Kent SAR has been stolen. The mast was sheared off. The 19 foot extension was found under a Highway 1 overpass. It was high enough to smash into an overpass when it was towed. Chilliwack RCMP, BC RCMP and Abbotsford Police were all involved in the overnight search.

ORIGINAL STORY — Around 10 PM Friday night (March 16th) thieves broke into the locked Kent Harrison Search and Rescue compound in Agassiz and stole the 8M Spirit of Harrison rescue vessel.
The trailered vessel was last seen heading west on Highway 1 near the Prest Road overpass, near Chilliwack.
Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP or Search and Rescue in Kent/Harrison or Chilliwack, or BC SAR.
