Chilliwack – Chilliwack RCMP as well as the RCMP Forensic ID Unit are investigating a 7AM car fire at the Safeway off Yale and First. At first it appeared the car was abandoned however, a blue tarp and tent now covers the vehicle in the Safeway parking lot.
CTV reports that the BC Coroner has been called into the case as a male was found at the scene. The Coroners Service is responsible for investigating all unnatural, unexplained or sudden and unexpected deaths in the province.
The Serious Crimes unit is part of this investigation, however at this time, IHIT has not been called in.
