Chilliwack, BC – Early Monday morning (just after 4 AM) , Chilliwack Fire and Paramedics and Volunteers raced to the Mary Street Apartments off Kipp for a three story blaze that started in an apartment on the third floor.
The roof was compromised and all the residents were taken by victim services to the Comfort Inn (Near Sears on Luckakuck).If you have any items , donations that could help those displaced, please head over to the Comfort Inn. S.P.A.R.K.S is also going to be at the Comfort Inn and collecting donations if you have anything.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
One resident said his wife heard the alarm and woke him up and told him to get out in a hurry as thick black smoke was floating over Downtown Chilliwack.
It doesn’t appear there are any injuries and the investigation is in its early stages.
