Abbotsford – Just after 11PM Saturday September 5th, 2026, a vehicle was travelling in the 2500 block of McCallum Road when it was shot at by occupants of another vehicle. Preliminary information indicates that individuals in a dark-coloured SUV fired multiple shots at the victim vehicle.
AbbyPD patrol officers responded and confirmed that a shooting had occurred.
Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident.
Shortly after the shooting, AbbyPD officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the 2400 block of Sunnyside Place. Upon arrival, officers found an SUV fully engulfed in flames.
The AbbyPD Major Crime Unit has assumed conduct of the investigation and is working to determine the motive for the shooting and whether the vehicle fire is connected to the incident. Early indications suggest that this incident was targeted.
Major Crime investigators are appealing to anyone who was in the area of the 2500 block of McCallum Road between 10:45 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., or in the area of the 2400 block of Sunnyside Place between 11:00 p.m. and midnight on September 5th, 2026, who may have witnessed suspicious activity or captured dashcam footage, to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.
