Chilliwack (Media release) – After a lot of thought, many conversations and plenty of encouragement from people I respect, I’ve decided to put my name forward for Chilliwack City Council.
As a Fraser Valley native, Chilliwack has proudly been my home for 25 years. It’s where I’ve built my career, raised my family, volunteered, served on local boards and committees, formed lasting friendships, and become a very proud father and now grandfather. This community has given so much to my family and me, and I’m ready to give back by serving the city I am proud to call home.
Before entering real estate in 2016, I built a successful career in logistics, including serving as Director of Operations for a leading logistics company. That experience taught me how to manage complex issues, work within budgets, bring people together and find practical solutions that deliver results.
Today, I work in residential and commercial real estate. My career has given me firsthand insight into many of the opportunities and challenges facing Chilliwack, including housing, development, infrastructure, local business and the pressures that come with a growing community.
I have also had the privilege of serving in several community and industry leadership roles. I served on the Board of Directors for the Chilliwack School of Performing Arts and currently sit on the City of Chilliwack’s Design Review Advisory Committee.
Within the Chilliwack and District Real Estate Board, I have served as President and currently remain a Director as Commercial Division Chair. I have also participated in government relations and earned my Real Estate Board Governance designation, RSG.D. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of governance, advocacy, strategic planning and responsible decision-making.
Our city is growing, and with that growth come both opportunities and challenges. I believe we can move forward while still protecting the things that make Chilliwack such a great place to live: our farmland, our neighbourhoods, our local businesses, our outdoor spaces and the character that makes this city feel like home.
I’m running because I believe good local government should be practical, responsible and focused on the people it serves. We need thoughtful growth, responsible use of taxpayer dollars, strong infrastructure and common-sense solutions that work for Chilliwack.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more about the priorities that led me to this decision. More importantly, I want to hear from you. I’m looking forward to conversations with people throughout our community about what’s working, what isn’t and what you want to see for Chilliwack’s future.
