Impaired Driver in Abbotsford – Literally Crash to Pass on Highway 1

Abbotsford – Late Thursday night, at approximately 10:41 p.m., Abbotsford Police Department patrol officers responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 1 at the Brander Road rest area in the eastbound lanes. Upon arrival, officers located several heavily damaged vehicles. The collision occurred after a red Chevrolet Spark struck three other vehicles, including a semi-truck.

The 33-year-old female driver of the Chevrolet Spark was arrested and is currently under investigation for impaired driving.

Fortunately, the occupants of the other involved vehicles sustained only minor injuries and did not require transportation to hospital.

AbbyPD is seeking witnesses who observed the collision or the driving behaviour of the red Chevrolet Spark prior to the collision. Investigators are also looking for anyone with any dash camera footage that may have captured the incident or the vehicle’s driving behaviour leading up to the crash.
