Hope/Kawkawa Lake – Social media is buzzing that a long lost trophy, sent into the deep end of Kawkawa Lake, may have been found.
In a November 24 posting on social media, Riley Forman, the CEO at Connect Media, posted that the Oglivie Cup may have been found.
That relic has been in Kawkawa Lake for some 100 Years. It was given to the Best Costume at the Kawkawa Lake Polar Bear Swim.
Now enter, Brian McKinney, who has been an organizer and fixture for the New Years swim for many years. He took to social media: Let us confirm what we’ve found first. We’ve sent it in for forensics but something this big that has been under water for this long takes time to examine.
On line posts indicated that Brian McKinney and Cog Hill found the cup. Hill is Owner/ operator at Top Water Guide Services and Swiftwater Tech at Hope Volunteer Search and Rescue among other things on his resume.
