Chilliwack – December 6 1989 is a dark date in Canadian history that always brings tears.
Every year without fail, the Ann Davis Transition Society holds a public memorial to honour the victims of the 1989 École Polytechnique Tragedy. 14 women were murdered by a gunman who singled them out for their gender.
Join the Ann Davis Society Chilliwack on the morning of Saturday, December 6 for a vigil for the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, to be held at the main Ann Davis Transition Society office.
Kelli Paddon, former Chilliwack MLA and former parliamentary secretary for gender equity will be speaking.
Over the next 16 days, we will share information each day on gender-based violence and what we can do to begin spreading awareness and making change in our communities.
