Abbotsford (Abbotsford Police Department) – Between Friday at 5:00 AM and Monday at 6:00 AM, AbbyPD frontline officers responded to 313 police files, staying actively engaged throughout the weekend.

Friday Night

Officers responded to a variety of calls. One incident involved a shoplifter who pushed a store employee to the ground when confronted about stealing. The suspect was identified, and charges are forthcoming. AbbyPD also assisted Border Patrol with a border runner near Farmer Road and McKenzie Road. The suspect was located by a police dog while attempting to hide, with Air 1 providing support. RCMP Border Patrol took custody of the suspect and the investigation.

Saturday

Day shift officers attended a sudden death within the community, which was determined to be non-suspicious. Three stolen vehicle reports were taken during the day. On the night shift, officers attended a residence where three vehicles had their windows smashed. The investigation is ongoing. Two impaired drivers were also located.

Sunday

Additionally, another impaired driver was arrested, along with a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.
