Abbotsford (Abbotsford Police Department) – Weekend Recap: Oct 2nd to Oct 5th
Between Friday at 5:00 p.m. & Monday at 6:00 a.m., AbbyPD frontline officers responded to 327 calls for service.
Friday Night
Officers responded to 50 calls for service throughout the night. Patrol members attended a wide range of incidents, including mental health-related calls, overdoses, disturbances, suspicious persons, and other routine occurrences. One impaired driver was removed from the road. The Gang Crime Unit was also actively engaged in proactive enforcement, conducting curfew checks and monitoring known offenders.
Saturday
The day shift was relatively routine, with officers responding to 58 calls for service. One excessive speeder was stopped after travelling 124 km/h in a posted 70 km/h zone. Officers also located and arrested an individual wanted on four outstanding warrants.
During the overnight shift, officers handled 55 calls for service. One impaired driver was removed from the road, and another individual was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Additional officers were deployed on special duty to provide policing support at a local Halloween event.
Sunday
Sunday’s call volume was moderate, with officers responding to 45 calls for service throughout the day. Members attended a sudden death investigation that was determined not to be suspicious in nature. Officers also removed two impaired drivers from the road and located another individual wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Overnight, officers responded to a medical emergency in which the individual unfortunately did not survive. Patrol members removed two additional impaired drivers and one excessive speeder from local roadways. One person was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Proactive Traffic enforcement efforts led to:
