Abbotsford (Abbotsford Police Department) – Weekend Recap: Sept 25th to Sept 28th
Between Friday at 5:00 p.m. & Monday at 6:00 a.m., AbbyPD frontline officers responded to 301 calls for service.
Friday Night
Officers responded to 54 calls throughout the night. Officers remained proactive, locating 2 impaired drivers, one was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Numerous curfew compliance checks & several licensed premises inspections were completed.
Saturday
Day shift was routine, with officers responding to 55 calls for service. No major incidents to report. Officers successfully located & confirmed the well-being of an outstanding missing person. Officers also responded to a commercial break & enter. The investigation remains ongoing.
Overnight, Patrol officers attended 60 calls for service. Proactive enforcement efforts continued, with additional curfew compliance checks & licensed premises inspections conducted.
Sunday
Sunday’s call volume was relatively light, with 33 calls for service reported throughout the day.
AbbyPD officers & civilian staff attended the BC Law Enforcement Memorial in Victoria, while other members travelled to Ottawa to participate in the Canadian Police & Peace Officers’ Memorial. Alongside police agencies from across British Columbia and Canada, members gathered to honour & remember the fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities & country.
During the overnight shift, officers responded to a stabbing. The victim sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. One man was arrested in connection with the incident & remains in police custody.
Officers also responded to a robbery. The incident occurred after two individuals arranged to meet to complete the sale of an item. During the transaction, the suspect assaulted the sellers & stole the item before fleeing. The investigation remains active.

Proactive Traffic enforcement efforts led to:
6 impaired drivers removed, & 20 violation tickets being issued. By the end of the weekend, 7 individuals were held in custody.
