BC Conservatives Shuffle the Shadow Cabinet – Banman, Van Popta in the Mix

Victoria (with files from BC Conservatives/Black Press) Hon. Kerry-Lynne Findlay, Leader of the Conservative Party of B.C., announced the following changes to her Shadow Cabinet.

Findlay also thanked Reann Gasper for her selfless decision to step down as an MLA and open up her riding of Abbotsford-Mission for Findlay to run. Findlay called it an incredibly generous offer and said she is truly grateful. Gasper will now serve in a leadership role as Deputy Chief of Staff.

The following changes have been made to the Shadow Minister roles:

Bruce Banman, MLA for Abbotsford South, will add Shadow Minister of Agriculture to his responsibilities as Shadow Minister of Tourism.

Gavin Dew, MLA for Kelowna Mission, will now serve as Shadow Minister of Finance.

Misty Van Popta, MLA for Langley-Walnut Grove, will now serve as Deputy Whip while continuing as Shadow Minister for Infrastructure.

Scott McInnis, MLA for Columbia-River Revelstoke, will now lead Caucus Policy Development while continuing as Shadow Minister for Indigenous Relations.

MLA’s Peter Milobar and Ian Paton’s departure to sit as independents, caused the shuffle.

Langley-Walnut Grove MLA Misty Van Popta will replace Gasper as deputy whip, while continuing to serve as Infrastructure critic.
