Abbotsfiord – (AbbyPD Release) – Weekend Recap: July 3rd to July 6th
Between Friday at 5:00 p.m. & Monday at 6:00 a.m., AbbyPD frontline officers responded to 306 calls for service.
Friday Night
Friday evening kept officers busy responding to a wide variety of calls for service, including assists, mischief, thefts, abandoned 911 calls, & intimate partner violence, to name a few.
A rental car employee was travelling 111 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Mt. Lehman Road. Needless to say, they now have some explaining to do to their employer after the rental vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
Saturday
During the day, officers conducted traffic enforcement, resulting in 2 vehicles being impounded for excessive speeding. One impaired driver was also removed.
Just before 4:00 p.m., officers responded to a stabbing in the 33900 block of Gladys Ave. Patrol officers arrested the suspect. 36-year-old Tyler Craig has been charged with Assault with a Weapon. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Saturday night remained busy, with officers locating & removing 4 impaired drivers from the road. Our Gang Crime Unit arrested 2 individuals for Drug Trafficking. Approx 45 grams of fentanyl & cocaine were seized. The investigation remains ongoing.
Sunday
Day shift allowed officers to catch up on outstanding files. Officers located & arrested a prohibited driver. During the traffic stop, officers seized approximately 1 gallon of suspected GHB, which will undergo further laboratory analysis.
Overnight, officers located 3 individuals who had previously been reported missing. Officers also located & arrested a prohibited driver and conducted curfew checks.
Additional calls for service, including weapons-related incidents, next-of-kin notifications, disturbances, & traffic-related investigations, among others.

Proactive Traffic enforcement efforts led to:
6 impaired drivers removed, & 59 violation tickets being issued. By the end of the weekend, 5 individuals were held in custody.
