Abbotsford – The Abbotsford Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) has made significant progress in an investigation into a series of break-and-enter offenses across the Lower Mainland. This investigation is being supported by the Community Safety and Targeted Enforcement Program (C-STEP).
On October 16, 2025, CRU initiated an investigation after multiple break-and-enters were reported in the region. Through extensive investigative work, officers identified suspects believed to be connected to a well-known problem residence located in the 27800 block of Myrtle Avenue.
On December 10, 2025, members of the Crime Reduction Unit, with assistance from AbbyPD Patrol Shift 2 and the Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team (LMD ERT), executed a search warrant at the Myrtle Avenue residence.
The search resulted in the recovery of:
• Five firearms
• A significant quantity of various caliber ammunition
• Approximately $30,000 in stolen gold and silver bullion
• Additional stolen property and evidence linked to the break-and-enter investigation
“This operation demonstrates our commitment to targeting prolific offenders and problem residences that impact community safety. This investigation remains active, and charges are anticipated,” said Sergeant Cory Johansen.
